Europed JA (£395)

THE JA is a budget priced electric bike and is uncomplicated and very simple to use. It is ideal for motor homes or just as a cheap way to get to work or the shops. The step through is very low and wide for less mobile riders. It weighs just 35kgs and feels like 25kgs to handle. It has 20"x175 tyres keeping it lower on the groung with single gear operation. The Handle bar angle is made for a more upright riding position and can be changed. It also has an electric horn, front basket, front suspension, front headlight, rear reflector and rear carry rack. The JA works on twist and go throttle or pedal assist modes without even switching over.

THE MOTOR on this bike is a modern tecknology 200 watt mini brusless 3 phase ac cpu motor This combination gives more torque and pulling power than standard brushless motors with its electronic winding selection at low speed. It will pull up to 17 stone if the area is not too hilly.

THE HEADLIGHT on the JA has a battery level indicator, overload light and low voltage warning.

THE SEAT has a sprung seat post is large and soft and will adjust to leg length from 26” to about 30". It also tilts to allow the battery to be removed from under the seat.

RANGE will vary depending on outside temperature, hills and rider weight. Greater range can be achieved by pedalling off from stationary and then using the throttle. It will vary from 10 to 15 miles. Steady throttle use saves power! An even greater range can be achieved by pedalling with the motor on P.A.S.

THE BATTERIES are 2 x 12volt 12amp S.L.A. (sealed lead acid). They do not need topping up and will not leak at any angle unless they are dropped, smashed or the wrong charger is used. This is the most common battery used on e bikes as they are cheap to replace and are ready available from your retailer, from us or most electronic stores like Maplin Electronics. They are not gel because gel batteries have a shorter life span.
They can be charged on or off the bike (if you have no power in your garage), with the easily removable, lockable, battery pack. Charge after every trip if possible or at least at the end of each day of use. They can be charged as often as needed in a day and have no memory effect. They will be damaged if left flat for long periods and should always be left in a charged state. Never leave the batteries for more that 60 days fully charged without charging again even if they only take a small charge.

CHARGER supplied with the bike will charge the batteries from flat to 90 to 95% in 4 to 5 hours on the red fast charge light and the remaining 5 to 10% on green in a couple more hours. If the battery is half flat when charged the charger will automatically know and put half a charge in.
New 3 stage chargers are supplied with all bikes now. Red boost = charging, red pulsing = charging is mid way through and green = trickle, extending battery life. If the battery is lower than 5 volts the gharger will flash first while it tries to bring the voltage up. If it stays flashing the batteries may need recycling or replacing. When the charger light stays on red for a long period and the batteries get hot, stop charging at once there is a faulty battery and they can burst in the case.

FREE RAIN COVER is supplied with this bike and must be used when left standing in rain to remain under warranty, which is 12 months on the bike and 6 months on the battery.
